Our latest version of the Aurachain platform is all about making things more accessible and flexible. Connect to APIs using new self-signed certificates and enable even more dynamic and conditional features in your documents.
Furthermore, we’re happy to say that new accessibility settings have been added to make engaging with the platform much easier for visually impaired users.

As always, there are also a number of tweaks and improvements under the hood in this version to make your Aurachain experience better than ever before.

Now let’s take a more detailed view on Aurachain 3.12.0.

What’s new?

  • Connect to APIs using self-signed certificates with a new SSL Certificate Management system.
  • Get creative with even more dynamic and conditional features in your documents, from page numbers and borders to custom headers, footers and background images.
  • Introducing new Accessibility settings that allow visually impaired users to engage with Aurachain applications and perform tasks.

SSL Certificate Management

First up, something for all the admins out there.

As you know, Aurachain applications are built to seamlessly integrate with other systems via APIs. However, sometimes these systems have endpoints that are secured using self-signed SSL certificates.

Via the new “SSL Certificates” page, you can now upload trusted SSL certificates or certification chains, thereby allowing API calls to endpoints secured with these certificates. Certificates can even be retrieved automatically from any accessible URL. The page also allows you to explore, export and delete existing certificates.

We will even email you a week before a certificate expires to ensure timely certificate renewal.

Document Builder

Next, the biggest news in headers and footers since Cristiano Ronaldo re-signed with Manchester United.

That’s right, we’ve added new capabilities on document templates to enable dynamic and conditional header & footer features.

That means you’ll be able to:

  • Add text, pictures, page numbers, tables, links and dynamic variables inside the header and footer sections
  • Format the content with all the existing options
  • Define a different header/footer for the first page

In addition, we added the capability to add a background image for the document template too.

Accessibility

Aurachain 3.12.0 introduces Web Content Accessibility to the Aurachain platform to ensure that our technology is usable by persons who have disabilities and work with assistive technologies.

The new Accessibility feature will get updated regularly to address current worldwide standards and regulations. Version 3.12.0 is the current version that incorporates WCAG 2.1 standards.

In this first installment of the Accessibility feature, you will find a “high contrast” mode to help visually impaired users engage with the platform. This activates a new high contrast color palette that has been implemented on all consumption pages.

The Accessibility feature can be enabled across the platform by an Admin user. Consumer users can then decide to use this feature or not by enabling or disabling the feature from their own “My Account” page.

Other Updates

As always, the new version comes with a range of updates and improvements under the hood. You might not always see them, but you will feel the quality-of-life improvement while using the Aurachain Platform.

  • Enhancements to way users can engage with the Global Data Model and UI Builder engines.
  • Optimization of where and when the Aurachain WebHelp icon is shown to relevant users.
  • Configure how long you would like notifications and alerts to appear on screen. The notification method (warning, success, error, info) will expose a new parameter that will manage the amount of time after which the alert will disappear. The parameter will be set in seconds and will have the current timeout as the default.
