Data Store – Import/Export
The feature allows users to import and export data from CSV files to data store, asynchronously. Users can either import/export entire data tables or import data into existing tables.
Benefits
Importing /exporting data allows easy sharing and accessibility of data across different systems.
Exporting data provides a simple way to create backups, allowing quick restoration in case of system failures or data loss.
Importing data from external CSV files automates the data entry process, reducing the need for manual input.
Use Cases
Data Migration: Migrate data from external sources into the system using CSV files.
Data Backup: Export data tables into CSV for backup purposes or sharing with external systems.
Data Update: Regularly import updated data into existing tables from CSV files to keep the system in sync with external sources.
Data Store – Change history
This feature provides a historical record of all significant changes made to data tables, including events such as table/column creation, import, deletion, renaming, and data removal.
Benefits:
Ensure compliance with data governance and regulatory standards.
Quickly identify and troubleshoot issues related to incorrect or unintended changes (e.g., accidental data deletion or renaming).
Minimize the risk of data loss or inconsistency by monitoring when changes take place and identify potential issues caused by specific actions.
Use Cases
A manager needs to track which team members made updates to the data table and when, as an entire column with data is missing from the “Product inventory” table.
An administrator needs to see who and when deleted the data from the Leave requests table as the process doesn’t work anymore.
Data Store – Data audit
The data audit provides a detailed record of changes, including what was changed, when it occurred, and the user who made the modifications, along with enhanced visual indicators for clarity.
Benefits
Enhanced Transparency: Users can easily track and understand the history of changes made to data tables, fostering a clear view of data evolution.
Enhanced compliance and auditing, supports the need for adherence to regulatory requirements, making it easier to provide proof of compliance during audits.
Enhanced decision-making, as users can see a history of actions or changes directly related to the task they are performing.
Use cases
A company undergoing a financial audit is asked to provide a record of all changes made to financial data tables over the past month.
A business analyst notices discrepancies in the sales report generated from a data table. To identify the source of the error, the analyst accesses the data audit to track recent changes, including added, edited, or deleted rows.
